India, US to cooperate on critical battery minerals, trade minister says

Market Spectator October 3, 2024 1 minute read

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Indian Trade Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that he has executed an agreement with U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to cooperate on supply chains for critical minerals for batteries used in electric vehicles and other clean energy.

Goyal made the comment during an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington after meeting with Raimondo earlier on Thursday. He described the agreement as a memorandum of understanding but did not provide further details on its scope.
